The premier asset-backed digital instrument for physical water
WATERCOIN™ is an asset-backed digital financial instrument that represents a specific quantity of physical water, stored and verified at certified reservoir sites. It is the first instrument of its kind to operationalize the Aqua Index — a patented, impartial benchmark for pricing water as a global commodity.
Each WATERCOIN™ token is minted against verified water reserves, with custody held at certified reservoir locations. The token is designed for English-language markets and enables both secondary market trading and physical delivery redemption — placing water alongside gold, oil, and other commodities as a fully tradable financial instrument.
Priced according to the Aqua Index methodology — which accounts for regional variation, agricultural reflection, and global supply dynamics — WATERCOIN™ provides a transparent, consistent valuation framework that has never before existed for water as an asset class.

Physical water is deposited at designated certified reservoir sites. Each deposit is independently verified and quantified, establishing the reserve against which tokens are minted. The verification process ensures full traceability and auditability of the underlying asset.
Upon verification, WATERCOIN™ tokens are minted at the prevailing Aqua Index price — a patented impartial benchmark derived from global water pricing data, agricultural commodity correlations, and regional supply-demand dynamics. Each token represents a specific, audited quantity of physical water.
Once acquired, WATERCOIN™ holders have two options: trade the token freely on secondary markets — benefiting from price discovery and liquidity — or redeem the token for physical delivery of water from selected distribution stations, exercising the underlying commodity right.
Upon redemption, the corresponding WATERCOIN™ tokens are burned from circulation and the equivalent quantity of physical water is released from the certified reservoir to the designated distribution station for delivery. This maintains the 1:1 integrity of the asset-backing at all times.
WATERCOIN™ is designed for a broad range of participants in the emerging water commodity market:
| Institutional Investors | Portfolio diversification through a novel commodity asset class with patented pricing methodology and full reserve backing. |
| Corporate Treasury | Hedging against water price exposure for agriculture, manufacturing, and utilities sectors where water is a material input cost. |
| Financial Institutions | Collateralization of water reserves for lending and structured finance products. |
| Individual Investors | Direct exposure to a real-world asset with clear scarcity dynamics and global demand growth fundamentals. |
| Physical Buyers | Organisations requiring water delivery who wish to purchase forward via tokenized instruments and manage delivery logistics through the redemption mechanism. |
WATERCOIN™ is a digital financial instrument. Investing in tokenized assets involves risk, including loss of principal. Physical redemption is subject to available distribution station locations and applicable logistics. The Aqua Index pricing benchmark is subject to market fluctuations.
